 Background: I was firstly interested in alternate treatments after having rhuematic fever at 14yrs old. I had an extremely sore foot and xrays showed nothing wrong . Then the other foot became just as sore. Looking back, a reflexologist would have known there was something wrong with the whole body. Months later, a heart specialist finally found the diagnosis and I was prescribed lots of aspirin and penicillin.
When my 2yr old gagged on panadol, I was having treatments with an accupucturist at the time, who was also a homoeopath, and she prescribed Belladonna for my son. He took the drops no problem and was better. This spurred me onto taking my first diploma course in homoeopathy,1983 Iridology and various massage courses. Whilst studying deep tissue muscle therapy, I went and did a REIKI 1 & 2 course with Rev. Beth Gray.
At this time, I had slipped a disc in my lower back and was in agonizing pain. A friend who had just learnt reiki, suggested I go and do the course to help me with my pain. I hesitated, thinking not another course, but luckily I did. Over the course of the weekend, my pain lessened and I knew I had found the key of how to help heal myself. REIKI -Usui Shiki Ryoho I practiced on myself daily for 12 months, and my 26 food allergies that I had for many years went away, and my back was fine.
I treated lots of my clients with Reiki and sent them off to learn Reiki with Rev. Beth Gray, my teacher. These people were all achieving good results on themselves and others just like me.
I knew I was on the masters path, but by this time my teacher, Rev. Beth Gray, had retired . After practicing REIKI for 9 years, I was led to Phyllis Lei Furumoto, Lineage Bearer of The Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki that I practice. Phyllis initiated me as a master of the system in 1994.
I have worked for the past 26 years in various areas of the Natural Health Industry, including bereavement care, supporting people living with cancer and aids on the Central Coast of NSW, helping women in abusive relationships restablish their lives, worked extensively with children/ teenagers with A.D.D. and their families, and small children with allergies. I now practice on the Gold Coast.
My students and I have helped families whose children have leukaemia with the Make a Wish Foundation on Mt Tamborine in early 2002-2005
I am also a very passionate reiki/master teacher supporting my students the best way I know how.
Jan's REIKI experiences are manifold.
Before learning Reiki I used to be quite drained after giving a massage as I was using my own chi energy ,after being attuned with the reiki energy (which means Universal energy )I was no longer using just my own energy.I feel invigorated after giving a treatment.Plus my hands have a lot more energy in them ,sometimes the energy comes through as heat, tingles , vibrations , heaviness. THe hands become quite diagnostic picking up energy blockages in the body.
After taking the 1st Reiki class I was much more relaxed ,my back healed. 26 food allergies went away.
Working with clients releasing past lives makes an incredible difference to them. Particularly working with conception. Loss of babies. Still borns. Relationship problems,Lifes direction.
Helping clients that have been abused,encouraging them to have a few sessions and perhaps to learn Reiki to help heal themselves.
Master Initiations. 3 masters below I have initiated into the Usui Shiki Ryoho System . I am honoured that these 3students of mine are now masters
In late 2007, I was very proud to initiate Helen Lowe from Newcastle NSW as a Reiki Master. Helen has a background in Natural therapies and counselling.Helen has held Reiki groups, attended many classes and supported the system for over 10 years.Helen teaches in Newcastle.
I also initiated Paulene Brown, who was a student in my first Reiki class in 1995, as a Reiki Master. Paulene teaches on the Central Coast of NSW. Paulene worked in my clinic as a Reiki practitioner and also at a HIV clinic, and is a registered nurse..
Lynette Horne was initated as a master in August 2008. Lynette resides in Maclean. Lynette has a background in Natural Therapies trained in Sydney .She has co ordinated in Northern Beaches , and has assisted at many Reiki classes in Sydney, the Central Coast and Queensland over the past decade.
All 3 Masters have had Practitioner training. as well as Master training.
Personally, Reiki has empowered me and changed my life. I got rid of claustrophobia, a fear of heights and stairs. It helped me recover from a near fatal car accident.
I give myself a reiki trreatment everyday.I am empowered.
